Jock Sutherland has clearly established himself as the best of the Hawaiian hot-dog surfers with his victory in the second annual Hawaiian Surfing Association meet yesterday at Chun’s Reef in 4-6 foot surf and his recent win in the ■mail wave surf in the Peru meet.

Jock put on a superlative performance of noseriding and switching feet to beat out a determined effort by place Kiki Spangler, who was handicapped by the theft of his surfboard just 15 minutes before the finals began.

Brian Livingston, just recently returned from a stint in the armed forces, was third, and Eddie Aikau, who is more famous for his big wave riding than his hot-dogging. was fourth.

In the junior division, Jimmy Lucas stole the show for an upset victory over second place Ken Bailey, the leading junior surfer in H.S.A. standings, and Reno Abellira, this year's Makaha champion.

Todd Value, a consistent winner at Chun’s Reef in inter-club competition, was fourth.

No team standings were kept, but Kui-O-Hawaii, the surf club started by the late Kui Lee, swept the first three places in both the senior and junior men's divisions.

Leading the women was little Martha Sunn, who beat out a host of top women surfers. including her older sister Rell. Lani Gay was second, ahead of Lani Medi- eros, who was third.
