Enterprising 1970s surf journalist and film producer from Sydney, Australia; best known as cofounder of Tracks magazine. Elfick was born (1944) and raised in Sydney's Maroubra Beach, and began surfing at age eight; in 1968 he received a B.A. in history from the University of New South Wales, and was soon hired as an editor of the popular teen-aimed Go-Set music magazine.
