reverse pullout

A longboard-only variation on the kickout, almost always performed while riding backside (back to the wave); the rider turns his board over the crest, simultaneously twirls his body into an opposite-direction 180-degree half-spinner, and finishes in a paddling position. A classic hotdog maneuver. Mislabeled in Tom Wolfe's 1966 surfing essay, "The Pump House Gang," as a "reverse kick-up."...
