springsuit

A single-piece, medium-protection wetsuit design, covering the surfer's trunk, chest, and thighs, available in either a long- or short-sleeve cut; usually made from two-millimeter neoprene and featuring a back zipper. The springsuit was introduced in the early 1970s, and quickly replaced the "beaver- tail" wetsuit jacket as the top choice for cool-but-not- cold water conditions. See also wetsuit....
