Highly concentrated translucent coloring agent; tints come in liquid form, and are mixed with resin, then brushed onto the surfboard during the fiberglass lamination process. Tints are used to color broad areas, usually the entire board, or the bottom and rails. Airbrushing began to replace tinting in the 1980s as a more popular and less-expensive coloring choice.
