Four-fin surfboard design invented in 1988 by shaper Will Jobson of Huntington Beach, California. Jobson's idea was to revitalize the twin-fin, a speedy and maneuverable small-wave board popular in the late '70s and early '80s that had proven to be terminally skittish.
