Large and relatively shallow bay in the northeast Indian Ocean, bordering India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar, and containing the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Southwest monsoons between May and October regularly deliver small- to medium-sized surf to the Bay of Bengal's north and east shores, and often-perfect surf to the Andaman and Nicobar groups.
